
SCCHS Staff Spotlight - September 2022 Ms. Cassady Berry is the 6-8th grade Art teacher at SCCHS. She is also the SAT coordinator for 9-12. Ms. Berry was nominated by her colleagues to be in the spotlight this month. Ms. Berry was recognized for her empathetic spirit and willingness to help both students and staff. Her hard work doesn't go unnoticed. Way to go, Ms. Berry!

Mrs. Amy Smith is the Technology Innovation Program Specialist for SCCHS. She has been in this position for 13 years! Mrs. Smith maintains the technology needs of 754 students (57% of all Summers County students). She is the go-to tech guru for both students and staff. SCCHS is lucky to have her! Way to go, Mrs. Smith!

Ms. Regina Trout is the head custodian at SCCHS. She was nominated by her colleagues to be in the spotlight this month. Ms. Trout's colleagues said, "This is the best the school has looked!" Ms. Trout worked all summer to clean and wax floors to prepare for the start of school. Way to go, Ms. Trout!

Ms. Ellen Holt is a math teacher at SCCHS. She was nominated by her colleagues to be in the spotlight this month. Ms. Holt was described as having a willing, cooperative spirit with outstanding leadership skills. Ms. Holt is the 9-12th grade PLC leader, faculty senate president, and an M3T cohort member. Way to go, Ms Holt!

SCCHS Volleyball recognizes our seniors at tonights match. Thank you to Liv Meador, Sullivan Pivont, and Emilee Smith for their dedication, leadership, and bobcat pride. Once a Bobcat, Always a Bobcat!!!!





Homecoming/Spirit week was an exciting (return to normalcy) for the Bobcats. The festivities included Spirit Bowl, grade level competitions, bonfire, parade, Homecoming Court, Crowning of Homecoming Queen Liv Meador, and concluded with a 54-7 win vs the Sherman Tide. Thank you to our amazing student body, student leaders, SCCHS staff, parents, football players, band members, cheerleaders, coaches, and summers county community for coming together for an amazing week. Special recognition to the city of Hinton, sheriffs department, fire department, Lawson Jones photography, and many more for making the bonfire/parade a success. Thanks for making this a special week for the bobcats!!!! Congratulations to the Summers County Bobcat golf team for a fourth place finish at the West Virginia State Championship!


8th grade night will be before the game tonight. It will start at 5:30. If you have an 8th grade student-athlete in cheer, football, band, or cross country, please be at the field by 5:15 at the latest.

8th Grade Night will be held tomorrow night at the Middle School Football game. 8th grade student-athletes in the following sports will be recognized:
Football, Cheer, Band, and Cross Country. Students were given forms at school today. Please have them return the forms to Mrs. Berkshire in the morning.

Summers County students participated in a live zoom meeting with Senator Joe Manchin this morning. The main topic was the service academy nominations.
