State Social Studies Fair Winners

April 29, 2022     Summers County Schools was well represented at the West Virginia State Social Studies Fair in Charleston.  Hinton Area Elementary 3rd grade students Ella Conner, Bristol Persinger, and Aria Buckland earned honors at the West Virginia State Social Studies Fair at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.   Their project titled, “Mount St. Helens:  Fact and Eruption” placed third in the Division I Geography, Group classification.  The trio placed first at the county and regional fairs leading to their qualification for the state fair.  Caden Lasley, a seventh grader at Summers County Comprehensive High School, qualified for the state fair after winning at the regional level with his project “Theodore Roosevelt:  Our 26th President.”
